The campsite is located on the outskirts of Oakhill, a small Mendip village, and well positioned just a short walk from two wonderful pubs, The Oakhill Inn (which is dog friendly and a walk across the fields) and The Mendip Inn, just up the lane, both serving hot food. There is also a village shop and post office in Gurney Slade, just a 20 minute walk or two minute drive down the country lane for your morning papers and essentials.
We have lots of roomy, grass pitches, some with electric hook up. And the hard standings all have electric.
And there is lots of space for children to run, play football and explore. The village recreation ground is next door for well behaved children to visit too.
There are two self contained cabins available for the non campers in your family, which accommodates up to two adults, no children or dogs (see 'Gert Lushing' or 'Country Bumpkin' on airbnb or contact us directly).
On site we have hot showers, at no extra cost and of course toilets. The Washing Up shed has hot water and a freezer. We also have the Sharing shed with lots of information inside. We encourage campers to recycle rubbish and use the correct bins. And to take any larger items home.
Your furry friends are welcome at no extra cost, we just ask that you pick up after them and keep them on a lead on pitch but they can run free (if they respond to recall) further out in the field. Beware as there may be livestock in the neighbouring fields.
Fire Pits are available to hire and logs can be purchased onsite, you're also welcome to have your own BBQ's, we just ask that you keep them raised off the ground.
COVID restrictions may lead to some changes.
