Welcome to Oakhill Camping and Caravanning.

Terms & Conditions are in place to protect the health and safety of all parties and to ensure the facilities, amenities and environment of the Park is preserved for the enjoyment of all guests.

We reserve the right to amend or add conditions as required. We thank you for adhering to these when visiting our site and hope you enjoy your stay.

When visiting please adhere to the following conditions:

Persons using Oakhill Camping and Caravanning and its facilities do so entirely at their own risk. We at Oakhill Camping and Caravanning will not accept liability for the loss or damage to persons and/or property accommodation or amenities becoming unavailable due to circumstances beyond our control.

Booking / payment

Payment must be made at time of booking. (either 25% deposit or payment in full) Remaining balance due 10 days before arrival date, failure to so so will result in the booking being cancelled.

Bookings made within 10 days if arrival must be paid in full at time of booking.

We check the party make-up of every booking. Upon arrival, should parties differ from the booking or are not in line with our policy,  Oakhill Camping and Caravanning reserves the right to refuse access, and no refund will be forthcoming.

The lead name on the booking will be responsible for all payments and the behaviour of all party members whilst visiting our site.

All bookings made in advance of arrival date must be paid using a debit/credit card, by paypal or bank transfer. We DO NOT accept payment by cheque.

Standard pitch fees include two people, with additional fees applicable for additional people (see our prices page).

Arrival and Departure

Check in is between 12pm and 7pm. Please do not arrive before this time as access will not be available. If your arrival will be after 7pm please contact us, and we will do our best to accommodate you, but this may not always be possible.

Late arrivals must notify Oakhill Camping and Caravanning of their expected time of arrival at least 24 hours in advance. 

Oakhill Camping and Caravanning reserves the right to terminate any booking at any time, without compensation or refund. 

Pitches must be vacated by 11:00am on day of departure

If you wish to extend your day, these will be accommodated where possible but there is no guarantee that pitch bookings can be extended beyond the dates originally booked.

Cancellation / change of booking

In cases where cancellation happens the 25% deposit made at the time of booking is non refundable25% deposit made at time of booking is non refundable.

If full balance has been paid at time of booking and guests need to cancel before the 10 day window 75% will be returned to guest.

If cancelled with 10 days prior to arrival full fees will apply, and no refund given. Remaining balance due 10 days before arrival date, failure to so so will result in the booking being cancelled.

In extreme circumstances we may be able to move booking but this cannot be guaranteed.

Severe weather

We will not be held responsible for predicted bad weather, we may be able to offer alternate dates but this can not be guaranteed in high season. We reserve the right to cancel bookings if we are advised of severe weather warnings, in these rare case you will be refunded in full.

Vehicles and travelling around the site

Car charging is prohibited anywhere on site, due to risk of this causing a site wide blackout as we are not set up to accommodate this. If you are found to be charging your vehicle on site you will be asked to leave, without refund. If you do require charging for your vehicle there are charging points at the local Tesco in Shepton Mallet.

Only one car is allowed per pitch. Additional parking may be available, but is minimal, please ask about this before arriving if this is required.

Oakhill Camping and Caravan do not accept liability if vehicles are damaged, stolen or anything else.
Large vehicles must be declared, if unit dimensions are not declared we may not be able to accommodate you and you may be asked to leave.

The site speed for guests is a limit of 5mph and MUST be adhered to at all times.

Driving is NOT permitted around the site between 11pm and 6am. 

Quiet Site

Oakhill Camping and Caravanning is a quiet site and loud music or antisocial behaviour is not permitted. If you are looking to party then Oakhill Camping is not the site for you. Please adhere to our quiet times, these are between the hours of 10pm and 7am.

BBQ’s and Fire pits

Use of barbeques and fire pits are allowed at Oakhill Camping and Caravanning but should NOT be placed directly on the grass. Customers must comply with the government guidance governing their safe usage. The full guidance can be found here.

We reserve the right to ask guests to not light fires in droughts and very windy conditions.

Fire pits and BBQ’s should be at least 3 metres away from any structure or combustible surface, such as trees, fences, tents etc to prevent fire risk.

Fire pits and BBQ’s MUST NOT be lit in windy conditions as this could result in burning embers being blown for significant distances and causing damage to surrounding land or properties.

Fire pits and BBQ’s MUST NOT be started with petrol or other flammable liquid;

Fire pits and BBQ’s MUST NOT  be left unattended whilst lit or  still glowing. Please ensure they are completely extinguished if leaving the area, or heading to bed.

Guests

We are a family friendly site and welcome both couples and families.

Children under the age of three are free, and children from the age of 16 are classed as adults.     

Children are more than welcome at Oakhill camping but remain their parent’s/guardian’s responsibility.

Children seen to be misbehaving, causing upset to other guests or not respecting our farm will be asked to leave.

Under 18’s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians at all times. 

You must adhere to your allotted pitch whilst staying with us.

Anyone found not to be respecting our farm will be requested to leave without refund.

Abusive or aggressive behaviour towards Oakhill Caravan and Camping or other guests will not be tolerated and you will be requested to leave immediately without refund.

Oakhill Camping and Caravanning is a family park and caters for families and couples only. We do not accept large or single-sex groups of 4 or more unless by prior arrangement and may ask for a security deposit. Please contact us before booking to discuss your requirements.

If we believe that you have left early (i.e. vacated the site with no intention to return before your departure date or informed reception of your intention not to return) we reserve the right to re-let your pitch/accommodation. You will not be entitled to a refund.

In the instance of behaviour detrimental to other guests, visitors, staff or property, those deemed responsible by the management will be asked to leave the site. No refunds will be made. Detrimental behaviour includes, but not limited to:

  • vandalism
  • inappropriate use of the site
  • anti-social or disruptive behaviour
  • any discrimination against, or harassment for reason of sex, race, colour, religious or philosophical belief, nationality, age, ethnic origin, relationship status, disability, sexual orientation or gender reassignment.

We reserve the right to refuse bookings from parties, or to request parties to leave Oakhill Camping and Caravanning, that may have a ‘negative’ effect to others, without notice or refund.

Dogs

We are a dog friendly site and welcome well behaved dogs on our pitches.

We reserve the right to request parties to leave without a refund if their dog is having a ‘negative’ effect on others. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Excessive barking
  • Aggressive behaviour
  • Anti social behaviour

All dog owners must ensure that their dogs do not attack or worry our farm animals. If your dog is found to be doing this you  will be asked to leave immediately. Compensation will be requested  where deemed necessary.

Dogs must be kept on leads and supervised at all times. We have chickens, ducks , sheep and cows on our farm that all can be injured or killed by certain dog behaviours, this will not be tolerated.

The Site does not accept breeds/crossbreeds listed in the Dangerous Dogs Act, breeds include but are not limited to Pit Bull Terrier, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino, and Fila Brasileiro. 

We also DO NOT allow the following breeds , Staffordshire Bull Terrier, American Staffordshire Terrier, Rottweiler, or any breed of Mastiff or Tosa

All dog faeces must be picked up and put in the waste bins provided. 

Problems or Accidents

Please inform us of any problems that occur during your stay as we regret that we cannot rectify or compensate for complaints once you have left the park. 

In circumstances where a customer’s own vehicle or equipment is involved in an accident or incident. Oakhill Camping and Caravanning reserve the right to close or restrict access to areas affected, and salvage or remove vehicles or equipment at its discretion. In circumstances where the accident or incident was caused by the customer, or anyone in the booked party, or by their vehicle or equipment, the owner will indemnify Oakhill Camping and Caravanning against all damage, claims, costs, demands, acts or omissions whatsoever arising and make reparation to Oakhill Camping and Caravanning any resultant costs, damages or losses (consequential or otherwise) relating thereto.

Site care

All rubbish must be taken home with you or placed in the correct bins provided. Out of season we have livestock in the field so the site must always be kept completely free from litter at all times, this includes cigarette butts, to ensure no harm comes to out animals.

Amenities

Toilets and showers are provided for your convenience to be used if you wish but must be treated respectfully at all times.

Smoking  is not allowed in our facilities

Other information

Strictly NO GENERATORS

The use, possession or storage of firearms, air or gas operated rifles or pistols, items of an explosive nature (including fireworks) or any other offensive weapon is not permitted.

Oakhill camping strictly to not allow drugs to be used on site. Guests seen to be using drugs will be asked to leave.

All Oakhill Camping and Caravanning buildings and accommodation are strictly NON-SMOKING.

Kites, drones or  model aeroplanes are prohibited on site due to electric cables overhead.
